Plan the route first

Measure the installation path and mark where the string will be supported, where the power connection will sit and how people will move beneath it. Confirm the required clearance with the site owner and the applicable local rules.

Use suitable supports

Fix the lights only to supports that are appropriate for the site and the expected load. Do not assume a decorative string or its power cable can act as a structural support. If the span, wind exposure or mounting surface is uncertain, ask a qualified installer to design the support method.

Protect the cable and connections

Route the cable away from sharp edges, moving parts and areas where it may be pulled or crushed. Support it at the intervals required by the exact product instructions. Keep plugs, connectors and power supplies accessible for inspection and use only compatible components.

Check the electrical system

Confirm the voltage, power supply capacity, bulb load and maximum connected run for the exact models before energising the installation. Outdoor suitability must be checked component by component: the applicable WENDADECO festoon string is IP65, the matching transformer is IP67, and bulb and connector ratings depend on their specific models. An IP rating for one part does not automatically apply to the assembled system.

Inspect before use

Check for damaged cable, loose sockets and exposed or strained connections. Follow the product instructions and local electrical requirements. Have mains wiring and any uncertain outdoor connection assessed by a qualified electrician.
