How to Verify IP Ratings for E14, E27 and B22 LED Decor Bulbs
E14, E27 and B22 describe lamp bases. They do not prove a bulb’s IP rating. A report for one bulb model must not be used as evidence for every bulb with the same base.
Check the exact model
Match the product code on the quotation and sample to the product code, construction and test result in the current report. Ask whether the tested sample includes the same bulb housing, sealing method and electrical configuration as the ordered item.
Check the installed assembly
Outdoor performance also depends on the lampholder, cable, connector and installation method. A bulb’s report does not automatically establish the IP rating of the completed string light system. Follow the instructions for the exact bulb and socket combination.
Check the documents before specifying IP67
Some bulb models may have IP67 evidence. Request the report for the exact model before using IP67 in a design, quotation or marketing description. Where the report is unavailable or does not cover the ordered model, state only the verified rating or leave the IP grade unspecified until testing is confirmed.
